2020 - U9 Boys

Under 9 Boys (born in 2011)

Under 9 Boys play in a team competing on Saturday mornings. Teams are minimum 7, up to 11 players.
Training is once a week (Monday or Wednesday, depending on council ground allocations). Coaches are usually a player parent, with a Working with Children check and attended the appropriate FV (Football Victoria) coaching course.
No prior playing experience required, it's more about learning to be part of a team & making new friends.

U9 games are played against clubs in the south east of Melbourne. Fixturing of games is by the FV, so opposition teams/locations are dependent on the league a team is entered in.

On game days, teams play as 7 players on the pitch, one acting as goalkeeper. No scores are kept, no ladders exist. Pitch size is a nominally a 1/4 of a full size pitch. National Miniroos Rules/Guidelines.

As per the guidelines, we endeavour to enter teams in all three categories of leagues offered in Under 9s. Kangaroos, Wallabies, and Joeys are the leagues available.

Kangaroos have played before & have a strong grasp of football skills.
Wallabies have played before and are beginning to develop their football skills.
Joeys are first year players with no or little previous experience.

We do conduct voluntary grading sessions for those players wanting to play at the Kangaroo level.
