East Bentleigh Caruana Cup is our annual Miniroos tournament.


In 2019 the tournament dates are Saturday 4th May & Sunday 5th May.

Teams entered will play a minimum of 3 games in their age group, so every team will be scheduled to play 3 other teams in their age group before finals.
  • U8 and U9 Boys and U9 Girls will play 7v7 (inc keeper) on 1/4 pitches as per FFA regulations (maximum of 11 players per team).
  • U10, U11 Boys and U11 Girls will play 9v9 (inc keeper) on 1/2 pitches as per FFA regulations (maximum of 14 players per team).
  • All games are played as 2x 15 minute halves.


Boys groups will have 16 teams in each age group.

Girls groups will have 8 teams in each age group.


Kickoff times: First games will kickoff at 9am sharp on each day. Grand Finals are expected to kickoff at 5:10pm pending the number of teams entered.

Schedules will be sent to all registered teams prior to the tournament.

U8 Boys, U9 Boys, U9 Girls and U11 Girls will play all their games on Saturday 4th May.

U10 Boys and U11 Boys will play all their games on Sunday 5th May.


Tournament Location:  Bailey Reserve, 200 East Boundary Rd, East Bentleigh, VIC 3165.

Fees: $250 per team which covers referees, trophies/medals for runners up/winners, venue & equipment hire.

Entry: Open to Miniroos teams only, one team per age group per club. Teams will be asked to provide team details once a place has been confirmed.


We expect all participants to enter with good intentions and all games to be played and supported within the spirit of the game.
We will have zero tolerance for poor behaviour particularly from parents and officials.
East Bentleigh Soccer Club reserves the right to refuse entry or disqualify any team before & during the tournament.

Below are our terms & conditions to consider before registering/accepting an offered entry.

All players must be of the correct age or younger to play in the age group. Over age players are not to play unless an FFV dispensation exists for that player.

We intend to have a briefing from our club president on both days at 8:30am sharp and first games will kick off at 9am. Team managers or representative MUST attend this briefing, it is most important.
All teams must check in at the clubrooms before 8:30am, even if they have supplied team sheets before the day.

All games will run on a central clock, so all games will stop & start at the same time.
We run to a strict schedule, 15 minutes halves, 5 minute half time, then 10 minutes before the next game commences. Please keep any after match events to a minimum and clear the pitches promptly so the next round can commence.

No BBQs are allowed. East Bentleigh has full canteen facilities and we have a full crew to serve you on both days.
Clubs/teams are welcome to bring marquees to set up. These are to be placed in the allocated areas, pitch maps below show these. Council regulations do not allow spikes or pegs to be used for marquees, please use weights to hold them down.

Venue for both days is Bailey Reserve, 200 East Boundary Rd, Bentleigh East (next door to GESAC).
There is on site parking, but as we expect over 800 players over two days, we advise to park in the streets around the reserve.

All fixtures & scoring/ladders will be online.

All referees on the day are from our Junior ranks. Please be mindful these are teenage boys & girls.
They deserve respect for volunteering their time, so we would appreciate everyone respect their decisions & thank them for their efforts. We will not tolerate abuse of any kind directed to any official especially our young referees.

We will have ground marshals who will oversee the main pitch areas. The marshals will be equipped with megaphones & 2 way radios to stop & start games, watch out for bad behaviour and collect score cards amongst other things. After every game, a representative from each team (in case of dispute) and the referee are to sign a score card which will be returned to the club rooms & collated and scores will then appear online.

We will more than likely have a couple of photographers on site taking pictures for our website & Facebook gallery.

Tournament History

East Bentleigh Soccer Club's annual Caruana Cup Miniroos tournament was held on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th of July 2018, with this year being 39 years of EBSC and 33 years at Bailey Reserve.

This year we had 56 teams in 6 age groups from 31 clubs from all around Melbourne and 2 again travelling from Wodonga to compete in our tournament.

Thank you to all of the clubs, players and supporters that participated, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we always do hosting it.

As always, a very big thank you goes out to the club committee, referees and the volunteers without whom, our tournamnent would not exist.
