Format & Player Eligibility

Player Eligibility

All players must be registered with FFV for season 2018.
Players must be born in the appropriate year of birth or younger for the team's age group.

(U8 - born in 2010)
(U9 - born in 2009)
(U10 - born in 2008)
(U11 - born in 2007)

Full player names, FFA Player ID and DOB must be provided at team checkin on the day of the tournament.

Tournament Format

Round Robin with finals.
All teams will play a minimum of 3 games against a random draw from their age group (pending maximum number of teams entered).

EBSC may need to make changes to the draw and such notices will be sent to team managers in accordance with these terms and conditions.

Team managers will be advised by email.

Competition draws will be published online in full prior to the tournament taking place.

All scores will be recorded and entered on the age group ladder.


For the U8 & U9 boys:
The top 8 teams in each age group will progress to age group quarter finals.
The 4 winners of the quarter finals will progress to age group semi finals.
The 2 winners of the semi finals will progress to the age group grand final.

For the U10 & U11 boys:
The top 6 teams in each age group will progress to the age group finals.

The top 2 teams will progress direct to the semi finals.

The remaining for will play a single quarter final, winners of which will progress to the age group semi finals.

The 2 winners of the semi finals will progress to the age group grand final.

For the U8 & U11 Girls:
The top 4 teams will progress to semi finals.
The 2 winners of the semi finals will progress to the grand final.

Scoring and advancement, round robin:

3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.

Advancement will be determined by:

1. Highest points after the three round robin games
2. Highest goals difference
3. Highest goals for
4. Head to head results
5. If no clear result then toss of coin to determine winner

Quarter & Semi Finals:

If games are tied the result will be determined as follows:

1. Highest points after the three round robin games
2. Highest goals difference
3. Highest goals for
4. Head to head results
5. If no clear result then toss of coin to determine winner

Grand Finals:

If a grand final is tied, the result will be determined as follows:          

Two 5 minute halves of extra time, highest total grand final score wins. (NOT GOLDEN GOAL).

If the result is still tied:
1. Highest points after the three round robin games
2. Highest goals difference
3. Highest goals for
4. Head to head results
5. If no clear result then toss of coin to determine winner
