2019 Coaching - Expressions of Interest

East Bentleigh Soccer Club are seeking expressions of interest for coaching roles in 2019.

Candidates should hold the appropriate FFV certificate for the age group they would like to coach.
A Working with Children check is also a mandatory

Coach Policies

The majority of coaches at our Club are parent volunteers and in some instances
former players. All coaches are expected to complete an FFV accredited coaching
course for their relevant age group. The Club supports all coaches through a
dedicated development program.
All coaches are required to complete a Working with Children check.

1) Key Principles and  Objectives
A Coach is responsible for the development of the team, individual player skills and
knowledge of the game, the welfare of the players in their care and ensuring that all
participants enjoy their experience and involvement in the game.

To achieve these goals, all coaches are required to complete an FFV accredited qualification to ensure they acquire
the applicable skills and knowledge necessary to coach their relevant age group.

East Bentleigh Soccer  Club places a strong emphasis on the support and development of its coaches.

2) Coaching Rebate
All coaches are entitled to a $200 rebate each season. Coaches who are responsible for
more than one team can claim multiple rebates. The rebate does not apply to assistant coaches.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Holder of an FFV accredited qualification relevant to the specific age group being coached in the current season.  (e.g. holder of a Grassroots Football Certificate coaching U13s is not eligible) The FFV accredited qualification must be current (i.e. not expired)
  •  Registered with the FFV as a coach for EBSC for the current season.
  •  Hold a current working with children card.

The onus is on coaches to ensure they have satisfied all the necessary criteria and
have lodged their rebate in a timely manner.

Rebates can not be claimed retrospectively. Once the season is over and the Club’s
accounts have been closed and finalised, the rebate is forfeited if it has not been claimed.

The Club prohibits the offsetting of rebates against player registrations fees.
To claim the rebate the linked form must be completed and returned to the Club
Treasurer with the necessary supporting documentation

3) Reimbursements
Coaches can be reimbursed for any reasonable FFV accredited qualification they have completed during the season.
Please consult with committee before committing to qualifications to ensure the level of reimbursement possible.

Coaches wil be reimbursed for any training equipment they have purchased at the request of the Club.
Please note that all coaches are provided with a training kit containing balls, bibs and cones.

The Club deems this to be all the necessary equipment required for training sessions.

Coaches will not be reimbursed for the discretionary purchase of goals for use at training sessions.
Coaches may claim a reasonable reimbursement for one tournament entry fee per team per season.
Please consult with committee before committing to equipment or tournaments to ensure the level of reimbursement possible.

Ground hire fees do not qualify as tournament entry fees and are not claimable as a reimbursement.
All coaches are encouraged to use the Club’s facilities and grounds.
Please use the same form as above for all reimbursement claims.
